I have officially taught myself how to flash Betaflight onto a FlightOne flight controller. very likited resources found, but i accomplished my goal!
I started with a basic Eachine Cvatar frame, and their cheap Cvatar stack that was originally for the Cvatar. However, the flight controller when i found the stack was missing the USB port. So off it went into the garbage after close examination revealed it was unrecoverable! The 35a esc was in perfect shape and still usable thankfully!
Enter the FlightOne MillivoltOSD flight controller. The board has been sitting unused and brand new in my inventory for probably over a year. With all the shade and scam accusations towards FlightOne, I was set and determined to convert the bad boy to Betaflight, so i wasnt supporting FlightOne in any way by using the flight controller! This task proved harder than imagined! Apparently NOONE and NOWHERE has much info outside of the very limited support of the FlightOne website. Even Discord was almost useless for BetaFlight info AND FlightOne info!
After following both wiring diagrams from the manufacturers, I was able to succesfully connect my Crossfire receiver to Uart4 via the plug and direct soldering ch1 of the receiver to Rx4 on the fc board, the VTX connected to Uart3 for SmartAudio via the intended plug, and the camera also connected using the plug intended for its use. I decided to just use stock Eachine 1507 3600Kv motors to keep the dent to my wallet minimal! It also allows me to know a good baseline to start with thats tested and stable for this platform! So off to the bench we went!
So in the end, we flashed Betaflight 4.3 target RevoltOSD just to be clear. I have flashed the ESC with BlueJay .16 firmware to be able to run bidirectional DShot and RPM Filtering! Im running an 8K/4k pid loop with DShot300. Bidirectiinal DShot is enabled with 14 poles.
