Apex 6" compromise between freestyle 5" and long range 7" - Analog

I have been travelling with my 5" and I often find myself wanting to do a bit more range but not lose the freestyle ability.
As such, I have build a 6" version of an Apex and first few flights are very promising. I had lying around most of the parts apart from the frame. Ordered the frame arms from a shop and arrived quickly but the 5” hd frame took a while to arrive, just a day before I left on holiday. Wanted to have some progress on the build so I mounted the arms on a sticky tape in order to size the motor wires and solder the motors on the esc. Would have preferred to install the clear heat shrink to keep the leds on the arms but forgot to so I used some clear tape.
I had a 5s 21700 lion pack for the 5" but it was struggling with the weight. Managed to build the 6” with the addition of leds and gps for only 40grams extra. I ve got some maiden footage where it can be seen being very acrobatic with improved flight times. Turned my 5s lion pack into 6s and looking forward to test it out soon.
Considering the limited fpv supply across the Europe, I have used analog parts for this build, this makes travelling a bit easier (no need to carry the bulky dji goggles) and hopefully parts are easier to source if needed. I m only packing a backpack for all drone related stuff, cameras and clothes for a couple of weeks.
Noise is excellent only with rpm filters on. There is some frame resonance around 170hz though but pretty clean as a build.
Did a few clicks on the tune sliders and instantly sorted out the bounce back. Will be updating pids soon and flight footage.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
