AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

Those Yeti's... ALWAYS a looker!!
Cool build, of course, I like the esc covers.
I have thought about running a GPS antenna on the battery strap, but never committed. I always worry it won't be correctly calibrated after I unstrap and re-strap the battery, but I tell myself that I could just secure the battery strap and it should be plenty close for the calibration to be accurate. Please let me know how it performs, you would help my OCD :)
I have had several ships with the GPS on the battery strap. I have had no issues with calibration... the battery is unplugged when you undo the strap... and you are moving the drone around when it lands anyway, the gps doesn't know if its dangling on a strap or being shook around while you place the drone back on a good take-off spot. The only real issue I have had is it can get ripped off if you hit a tree branch, etc.
Ty!
