Always been a fan of Armattan frames. They are well thought out and made, and with this new version there are so many ways to mount and configure your components.
I went with mounting my flight controller stack up front, and the HDzero Freestyle VTX in the back. The frame comes with a few options for where to put standoffs. For this layout I've put the standoff in the center and removed the press nuts on the bottom plate. The front press nuts on the top plate are kept in and used to hold the GoPro mount.
For motors I've gone with 2207.5, 1969kv (bit of an odd size, but well made and tested). This build really screams and it's easy to do maintenance. Links to parts and 3d prints below. A few of the prints I either designed and made myself or modified files from others. The GoPro mount is a remix of a few existing models, however I don't like adjustable prints so this one is solid and locked to specific angles.
I am building my first fpv drone with the speedy bee f7 v3 and the HDZero Freestyle. I am starting to do research on how to power the VTX. Were you able to power the freestyle through the plug-in's. (no soldering) It's looking like i'd just have to solder the battery, motors, and 4 RX pads in my build.
Thank you for the reply! I currently got everything wired and now i'm flashing everything like the radio/ TX, FC, and now i'm on the ECS. I'm being very cautious since it's my first build. But your pictures helped me a ton getting setup! It gave me confidence that it was okay to plug an R1 into a T1 haha. Sadly the drone frame i picked is longer than the HD-Zero cable so i'm waiting on a longer one
will the hdzero freestyle V2 fit this frame? New pilot/builder here..
i have my hdzero goggles and freestyle vtx V2 on route. wanting to build this quad
Yes and much easier. I believe that uses a 20x20 mounting pattern, the frame already has these holes drilled.
