Because well.... why not?

When the Avata was released it seemed like fun. Really liked the robustness of the frame. However i prefer building my drones myself instead of buying them off the shelf. However only certain frame parts of the Avata can be purchased, not everything you need. So i designed an adapter plate that "completes" the frame and allows you to build it like you would with a normal custom drone.

You will need these 2 parts to build your own:

In addition you only need M2x40mm distance bolts for the camera mount. I just used 2 x m2x20mm and connected them together. I could also design a version without distance bolts of thats desired - please just let me know.

I released a short on YT that was quite popular. Always planned to release a full build video but never found the time. For most people that have build custom drones before it should be pretty straight forward though. This here is my build using 3s, however i'd suggest going 4s on this, as the Avata frame itself is rather heavy. Also you do heave more than enough space in the battery compartment for a 4s 850 / 1300mAh lipo.

Sadly DJI used a strange propeller size (as usual), which is basically 2,8". I simply cut off the tips of 3" propellers equally, which has been working great.

Anyway, you can find the design files on Thingiverse here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5908785

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
