Update2:
I tried the build on a betafpv meteor85 frame but it didn't work well. My 1202.5 motors were too short and the props would hit the duct supports. I printed some spacers to fix that. I also had to cut the battery holder because my batteries didn't fit. After the build was together, it had a lot of flyaways on betaflight 4.3 both on default settings and after trying some whoop presets.

I modified my design a little to make the ducts wider (vertically). This new design has been uploaded to the thingiverse page as the file with v2 in the name. After seeing where the previous version broke, I think this will strengthen it quite a bit. I've had a few crashes in the yard so far and it hasn't broken.

This 3d printed frame feels a lot stiffer than the meteor85 frame. It's also heavier, though.

I've also switched from HDZero to walksnail in this build

Update:
I had a few crashes in the yard and one of the spokes on the ducts broke. I was afraid of that. This is the weak spot of a frame like this because of the layer direction. You're probably better off just getting an off-the-shelf 85mm frame. It was a fun experiment, though!

I had some 1202.5 11500kv motors laying around and wanted to try making a whoop. Turned out pretty well. Seems fairly sturdy, but I've only crashed it lightly in the house.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
