A build around the highly anticipated Japalura 130mm frame

Things of note:

  • The bottom plate has no specific front/back as it's the same either way, HOWEVER the side plates only go on in one orientation only! found this out the hard way and had to dismantle and rotate the entire build 180 degrees!
  • I lost one of the washers for the camera but are not a strict requirement to install the camera
  • The frame camera cutouts do not line up with the double holed arrow v2 case meaning the angle cannot be secured properly
  • To maintain the camera screw requires the removal of a motor which is as pain
  • To maintain the FC in anyway would require dismantling one side incl. cam/vtx mount/carbon fibre top plates so lots of screws!!! on the bench it's okay but in the field it would be a bit of a pain
  • The ESCs are not the best candidates but it's what I had on hand and they're running fine on DSHOT300 8k/8k
  • Tramp VTX via OSD isn't working yet and will need to investigate using soft serial due to the lack of UARTS on the FC *update does not work! therefore had to swap out the FC to my backup Aurora mini F3 which has a dedicated UART for this

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
