My third build and finally just a simple name...yet another bright color scheme. I'll probably stop numbering my builds after this one...lol.
The process is again highly focused on the budget. Giving the speedy bee stack another go and this time I let my daughter color the arms of the quad.
VTx, receiver and camera all pretty basic, just a fun freestyle project. One small cosmetic detail is that this cheap TCMMRC "chopsticks" frame came without a custom stenciled battery pad...so I'll have to chop something down to size.... I personally love those sticky rubber mats for the car dashboard...those work well and they're pretty cheap.
I think I stayed well under $200 again for this, as price is still a big part of my planning process...as my description clearly shows...
Also discovered stikit foils on Facebook... I think their website is down and I don't use Facebook, but I'm already interested in some cool foil designs (yes, the whackier the better)... I'll probably still paint the edges though.
One slightly annoying detail I saw last night when checking the irc tramp smart audio was that apparently the Foxeer camera displays it's brand name and current battery usage in the bottom of the screen... after a quick Google I found people suggesting and explaining that you need that weird little supplied "keyboard" that came with the camera to change that...which is kind of a bummer since i really trimmed down that camera plug to the only three wires I thought I needed.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

For the camera: throttle all the way left for a few seconds should bring up the camera settings (assuming you are mode2). You can turn that off within there. If it is wired up to do so.
I have a few foxeer cameras (they really do seem to be the best offering so far) and have had to do this every single time. One I have it wired incorrectly, but I'm not going back just to fix that after months of flying it this way. Sucks but, it is just a little annoying. As long as I can see how much gas I have left in the tank, I'm fine.
Yes, that was weird to me, since I haven't seen it before. I actually ended up wiring in the little "keyboard", one wire soldered to a ground pad and the other I used a JST connector to stick it into the camera (which I previously removed... unknown to me at the time that I'll need that). It worked, and I guess in the spirit of Bardwell --> I learned something yesterday.
Yeah, I have one that took me forever to figure out what the issue was. Plugged the keyboard in finally and saw that it was on PAL! Man, sometimes the settings are hard to figure out where the problem is.
