Hello,
Criticism of the TinyApe Freestyle design and solution
I don't think the design of the 2.5 inch DarwinFPV TinyApe Freestyle is particularly good. Because 2.5 inch propellers can touch the cam screws on the frame. In order to make something usable out of it, I converted it into a Tiny 2 inch cinewhoop, 66 grams without battery.
Injection plastic vs 3D print prop guards
The prop guards used are injection (cut out on the Meteor85 frame), so should be more durable than 3d printed TPU prop guards that some use in toothpick to cinewhoop conversions.
Injection plastic prop guards are also available cheaply in certain Chinese shops, for example. But with the Meteor85 or Mobula8 cut outs, however, you know that they will relatively always be available as soon as you need new ones and that they have high quality...
True cinewhoop if using the battery below and a Runcam Thumb Pro V2 on top
I use the battery above. But if you use the battery at the bottom, what's possible if you lift the mainboard with 2 mm spacers and use the strap slots in the bottom frame, you could theoretically easily place a Runcam Thumb Pro V2 on top of the frame and produce really good tiny cinewhoop HD recordings imo. Perfekt for indoor, excursion with close flight to people, small park, ...
I may do this in the future, with a custom TPU mount for the Thumb Pro V2, on the 4 front screws of the top plate...
Two colored prop guards
I use 2 colored prop guars. Doesn't look that nice, but like this it is more easy to fly it VLOS.
Part you need for this build/solution:
More criticism: No 0° cam tilt possible!: Another thing I don't like about the frame design: I can't set the camera (Runcam Nano 4) to 0° because it touches the top of the frame. A minimum of 5-10° is only possible. Since I fly 3D I would actually like 0°. And if the camera touches the frame, a short circuit may occur, which is exactly why I stuck some tape between the camera and the frame.
Videos: (New to Old)
There may be videos about this in a few months.
This are two videos without the prop quads. The last of both videos (Charge 61-68) shows the problem with the props hitting the srews:

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
