This HEXACOPTER is built by me personally, it was assembled for photo/video shooting with a gimbal and a serious camera with equally serious optics.

Therefore, it is capable (really!) of lifting 7-10 kg of payload. (Although, in fact, I carried a lightweight Sony A6000 camera on a lightweight three-axis gimbal with a total weight of up to 3 kg.)

Alt Tag

— The hexacopter is built on the Tarot X6 TL6X001 frame.
— Motors - Multistar Elite 5010-274KV with controllers (ESC) Hobbywing XRotor 40A.
— The test propellers are 18 inches, the main ones are 20 inches. (quick-release mounts are available, although I do not recommend using them for reliability)
— The flight controller is Pixraptor, with two physically different GPS receivers.
— It has a telemetry link at 433 MHz / 500mW - full control and monitoring from the tablet.
— Radio control receiver – 16-channel FrSky 2.4G X8R, with telemetry to the remote control.
— Batteries – 2x 10000 mAh 6S (six-cell) Multistar High Capacity 6S 10000mAh.

It has a specially ordered protected container for transportation and storage (the same as is made for concert audio equipment) for its size.

It has additional goodies, such as backlighting, separate power supply for the gimbal/camera, etc...

That is a beast! I recently dug out my old Pixraptor and stuck it onto an old f450 frame for testing, but I'm planning something similar myself- a bit smaller, a 550mm 14" quad with 4008 motors. I'm keen to know how your tuning went with such big props.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
