Balance is the key!
I designed that frame with two objectives in mind:
To get a motor with maximum thrust I contacted T-Motor (who had an already pretty good motor in ther lineup) and convinced them that a little more kV, some small changes on the stator and a nice paint-job on the bells would provide the perfect package for this whole category (250g 3.5")
To get the biggest mass (battery) centered in the prop-line I reduced the stack-mounting options to 25.5mm or 20mm AIOs (8mm high + 2mm for stack-nuts) and designed the arms around those.

Hey man. Just bought most of the parts to do the build. What radio and goggles can i use for this? Also, the DJI parts, did you install just the transmission module or the whole O3 Air unit? Will let you know how the build goes
To fly it FPV you will need to build it with a full O3.
As for a transmitter to use: Any expressLRS radio will bind to the receiver you ordered. I personally use an X-lite with an expressLRS module but for convenience I would suggest the Jumper T20 (good build quality for the price, works for thumbers and pinches) or about any one of radiomasters lineup.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

I haven't been able to find it anywhere, how much vertical room is there for the aio?
There are 8mm between bottom- and top plate but there are cutouts in the top plate to allow for the stack-screws and nuts to sit a little higher (10mm) for 25.5 and 20mm mounting points.
Thanks! I am thinking of putting the new speedybee AIO in my build. With the heatsinks, it measures 8mm. I'm thinking that's too close.
you gotta love speedybee for their pricing! But 40Amp is serios overkill for the Squirrel. With our motors we draw 48Amp peak (12Amp per corner) so a 25Amp AIO would be sufficient.
