After the first retro Bot5 build worked out so well I just couldn't resist to get another one.
This frame has great balance, low profile COG, true X and with those prints it just looks amazing. Besides that, the large baseplate makes it a great canvas.
For the VTx I decided to recycle another build that's been developing various issues after several hard crashes. The stack is the $35 combination stack I mentioned on my previous build, but for some reason this base plate is so short, that I ended up turning the ESC sideways, which was a bit odd, but I guess a lot of experienced builders enjoy their power cables to come out the side around the center... sad to say, but so far I'm not that impressed with that placement.
I personally prefer the "slick back", or "scorpion" style for the power leads. Just seems the best way to mount a pack...but at least I can now say I tried it.
The capacitor also ended up being in a kind of awkward spot due to the sideways ESC, but it looks fairly neat.
Oh yes, I noticed that rather tight tolerance between prop end and the DJI antenna TPU...so far they haven't touched yet, but this might require a better designed 3D print.
Update after about 10 packs or so --> re-did the antenna mount, which means now I can fit 5.1 inch props... that's a huge improvement, I added a capacitor holder after bending that cap. Also swapped that DJI lense for a higher quality one.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
