This is my first FPV drone and build. The story behind this build goes like this:
Around the start of Summer 2023, I've started to pick up FPV as a hobby in midst of having a burnout in my photography journey. I've tried getting into FPV as a hobbyist back in 2016 when I was still a teenager. But back then, online resources weren't so widely available and information are scattered and scarce, especially in where I lived. During that Summer, I found myself consuming more and more FPV content on social media. One video stuck with me because after watching that video, I was committed to do all the research and prepare to fully get into the hobby, and that of course, is a freestyle video by the legend himself, MCK, titled "My Flow".
Fast forward to mid August of 2023, I was at home and can easily purchase components from Taobao across the border at a fraction of the price elsewhere in the World. At that time I already have around 80-100 hours combined on various simulator, although the majority was on Velocidrone. I knew I was getting into analog video system since I was on a budget, like many other high school graduates. So graphics quality in a simulator wasn't my top priority.
Probably because of the amount of race DVRs I've watched during that period, and most importantly the price that racing frames can go, I've naively decided to get a racing frame with a 4s setup, just so I don't get too far ahead of myself. But I knew gears like goggles and transmitters are long term tools rather than consumables like props, so after a good few weeks of research and contemplation, I went with Skyzone 04x V2 and Radiomaster Zorro.
The frame itself is average to heavy by today's standard. But it can really take a hit, which none of these were in my consideration due to lack of research and the urge of "just get started flying". So a few weeks later, everything is in the mail and I started building. Being my first build of course, it went nowhere near as smooth as those Youtube build videos but I had my fair share of trial and error throughout. Which I'm glad I did that instead of buying a BNF or RTF kit. The whole build was very average and looking back, it was really a beginner build.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
