I was looking for a 3'' frame the I could try a few new thing with. The only requirements being, lightweight, fit a 20mm X 20mm board and use a full size cam. This frame had more than enough room and still allowed me to drop the top 5mm.
With a little down time between builds I decided to upgrade a few of my quads. I started with putting the little IX3 on a diet.
The first thing was get rid of the larger and heavier Futaba receiver. The XM+ saves about 3 grams and makes a much cleaner build. I then dropped the top even more to 28mm and added a Storm Moby 3 inch TPU camera mount ( fit like a glove ) is not only looks better, but saves a few G's and allows more camera tilt. Forever Tubes were then added to the back to finish off the changes.
All in all I was able to shave off another 10 grams ( AUW 233g 's ) and clean up this little gem of a quad .
Can fit in this build a TBS powercube ?
Is the runcam taped in there? I have this frame and am planning to put the runcam mini on there but can't tell of the pre-drilled holes will work :/
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
