I like AOS frames and when this one came out I did order it straight away as maximum speed is something I wanted to experiment with.
My first build was a 3.5" with some TMotor 1604 on 6S and I was taken away with the performance (180km/h, 20% hover,...). I then built a few 5" but somehow they did not feel like a big step up and was disapointed by some of the performance aspect - until I built a proper 5" racer with 2020kv motors.
It was obvious while comparing with bigger 5" that max speed was massively impacted by the lack of aerodynamic consideration to the frames - my tiny racer hits 250km/h while my freestyle rig on the same motors/props will struggle to hit 190km/h.
This one is different - it runs heavier than any of my 5" specially with the recommended 1800mAh (AUW 996g) - runs bigger 2808 motors and is all about aerodynamic efficiency. Only done a couple of test flights with some 5.1 x 4.5 props and peformnance is impressive - 240km/h just about hitting 100% with the default tune. I have just received some of the new HQ 6x4.5 and 5.3x8 that should really bring crazy top speed but they do not fit within the prop holder so will give it a go without soon and get some extended prop holder sorted.
Build was really interesting and different to the standard quads I have been building till now - really enjoyed it. Space is very tight and I did not manage to add those LED's I like so much but pretty sure I will find a way over the winter :)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

looks amazing, how stable is it?
I was a bit worried about that so slowly increased speed/manoeuvres but it flies really well tbh (I did not try anything really acrobatic mind but it felt really stable even turning at speed) - small tumble while landing seems unavoidable but does not seem to be an issue either. The body is printed in thick PTEG I believe - nothing bending/flexing at all - not sure how it would fare in a hard impact but not planning to find out either :)
