Butter Kwad Kiss Dshot1200

This is my new 265MM build, I finally stepped up from the previous quad clones I've used and picked up a full retail ImpulseRC Alien kit from RotorRiot, in the form of their 6" Butter Kwad kit. I also wanted to finally try out a full Kiss setup, so this is running a Kiss FC on the latest firmware and a set of Kiss 24A Race Edition ESCs running the 1.10e firmware (latest Dshot).

I have a set of Tmotors newest F40 Pro 2400kv motors as well, with plans on flying some Dalprop 5045C Cyclone 5" props. I have previously run Foxeer cameras but opted for a Runcam Swift 2, which I'll be disabling the OSD on and using the built-in OSD from the Reaktor PDB/OSD. The PDB was a major factor for this build as well, with the wiring harnesses it makes an ultra clean setup.

I had my eye on a TBS Unify Pro VTX, but I've seen lots of folks reporting issues with ripped off UFL pads, or blown transmitters for no reason so I've gone another route. I read some reviews on Droneinsider and settled on an AKK X1 40CH 25mw/200mw/600mw Switchable VTX. It has a push button for changing channels, frequencies, and transmit power, and from the reviews it has an outstanding picture quality. (Note: The VTX is mounted to the frame with some 3M VHB double sided tape, its a near glue-like hold but gives under extreme force so if I crash, the VTX just flexes in place a bit.)

I'll be using an Anbee circular polarized cloverleaf on this guy, its served me well on my previous setups. I have an X4R-SB receiver as well as an X8R receiver, I want full telemetry on this through my Taranis so I'll be using one of these two. Probably the X8R since it has the extra PCB antenna leads for some better range/signal.

Build is completed! I will post some finished pictures soon.

EDIT 11/19/2019
I swapped out the 24A Kiss ESCs for their new 32A versions.
Also pulled the Reaktor PDB since I was having non stop video drop outs, avoid that PDB if you can, it never worked right for me. I have since dropped in a Mr Steel Alien PDB and its been flawless all around.
I plan on upgrading to a Kiss V2 FC sometime in the near future, I just don't fly this guy much as I prefer my BF quads.

Finally got the quad working how it should. Turns out I had to calibrate the ESCs and bump the PIDs up a little bit. Holy crap is all I can say, this is how it was meant to fly! Also added some updated photos of the completed build. Also ended up moving the antennas to between the arms, much better signal and not as easy to break.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
