With the new Drone/RC Aircraft laws in Canada, I wanted to build the safest Quadcopter that I could fly anywhere as it would be below the 250g threshold. This is not a racing quad. If I keep the weight down low enough, I may even add a compass/GPS to make it a proper drone.

I really like the simplicity of the OmniBus FCs. No PDB, which is fine because I plan to use a 4-in-1 and don't need a PDB. It also has a built in current sensor which is great. Going all out with the Aibot F7 so I can play around with some atonomous flight.

I'm still waiting for an inexpensive smart audio VTX to come out.

I was going to go with the new Emax RS1106 4500KV motors. 11 series motors are much lighter than 13 or higher due to the blade mounting hardware being much lighter (no huge nut and shaft). However, I just found out about the new RotorX 1404 ultra light motors. This might be a better option, waiting to see more reviews.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
