TILT

If you're searching for a professional 7-inch cinematic platform that revolutionizes aerial footage capture, you've found it. After 2+ years of development starting with the 2023 Rallycross Hungary event at Nyirád, TILT represents a fundamental shift in FPV cinematography - the first commercially available platform engineered from the ground up for integrated servo control.
While other frames treat servos as afterthoughts bolted on later, TILT was born from servo integration. Every design decision, from carbon layout to cable management, serves one purpose: seamless dual-camera control that actually works on professional sets.

*If we've missed an earlier commercially available servo-native frame, let me know and I will credit the previous frame - we genuinely don't know everyone.

The Development Story

Our journey began with a specific challenge: creating a fast, efficient platform that could carry a GoPro while sustaining high speeds for extended periods. We chose 7-inch props for the perfect balance of power and agility, paired with the Tattu 4500mAh 6S, the gold standard for cinelifters at exactly 99.9Wh, meaning it's airline carry-on compliant. For professionals flying to jobs worldwide, this was the largest battery we could practically use.

The First Test

Spring 2023, Rallycross Hungary at Nyirád Racing Center. Our first prototype faced its trial by fire during a livestreaming event. We successfully chased full 6-7 minute stages at average speeds over 100km/h without battery changes, something impossible with traditional 5" setups. While others were swapping batteries mid-stage, we were still in the air. The 7" concept was proven. We experimented with 7.5" props seeking even longer flight times, but discovered that at chase speeds of 90-150km/h, the gains were negligible while agility suffered. Seven inches was our sweet spot, powerful enough for marathon flights, nimble enough for complex cinematography.

The Servo Revolution
Success in rallycross revealed another opportunity. On professional sets, we constantly faced the same frustration: landing to adjust camera angles between shots. Directors waiting. Momentum lost. Time wasted. The solution required completely reimagining our design. We rebuilt the entire front section to integrate the Hiwonder LDX-218 servo, enabling both cameras to adjust pitch mid-flight via your transmitter, whether through headtracking, a dial, or TBS Crossfire. This wasn't an add-on, it was a complete architectural redesign.

What Makes TILT Revolutionary?

Servo-Native Design
Unlike frames with servo mounts bolted on as afterthoughts, every millimeter of TILT was designed around dual-camera control. The servo system (using Hiwonder LDX-218) controls both FPV and action cameras through your transmitter, allowing mid-flight angle adjustments. This isn't a modification - it's the foundation.

The Game-Changing Workflow
Picture this: Tracking a Mercedes AMG through a corner at 35° tilt, then pulling up for a hero shot at 0° - all without landing. On our recent AMG shoots, we covered entire sequences with just 1-2 battery packs per car. Directors love the efficiency. We love not interrupting the flow.

Motors of Choice
After extensive testing, we recommend:

Xnova 2810 1400KV - Our top pick for efficiency and thrust.

The Xnova motors deliver exceptional efficiency while maintaining serious thrust - crucial for carrying cinema cameras at speed.

Propellers
HQProp 7035 - Classic choice, proven performers

  • We also test the Gemfan 7043 street league right now - those have more thrust/speed and might be better choice - we will update this section after testing.

Flight Times
With Tattu 4500mAh 6S: 6+ minutes at chase speeds (90-140km/h). Enough for a full rallycross stage (3 laps) or multiple cinematic takes without landing. Just hovering/ super slow flying we were able to fly 15+min.

ESC and FC Recommendations

We recommend the T-Motor Velox SE stack or Tmotor FC Pro/ Pro 3 ESC for its reliability and performance. Our custom PID tune is optimized for this setup - use it with caution and always check for hot motors.

Unique Features

Quick Battery System
Quick-release battery system using StrawHatSam's proven design from the LA Mamba platform. It's becoming the standard in premium frames for good reason - seconds to swap when time is money.

Interlock Max
Our scaled-up arm-locking mechanism from the ERA series (it's FPV) eliminates vibrations with a single-screw design. The result? Jello-free footage that separates professional work from amateur attempts.

Perfect Balance
Despite 7" props, TILT achieves a compact footprint with center of gravity aligned in the prop line. Pro FPV pilot say this is one of the most crucial factors of how nimble a quad can feel.

Why We're Sharing This
We could have kept TILT exclusive to our service business - it's a significant competitive advantage. But we believe in pushing FPV cinematography forward. For professionals charging thousands per day, the €459 investment is minimal. For us, it's about enabling the entire community to create footage that was previously impossible. This isn't a hobbyist frame. It's a tool for professionals who need to deliver consistently exceptional results on demanding sets.

Note: Frame kit only. Servo (Hiwonder LDX-218), motors, ESCs, and other electronics sold separately. Professional assembly recommended.

I love your enthusiasm, and I am vicariously happy for you in your film work. Camera protection becomes difficult with the servo setup, but putting the vtx outside the carbon and paying no heed at all to cam protection is not a finished design, so I look forward to your work (please post your excellent designs!).

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
