Why not? I'd admit I have a problem... I love to build no matter the state of the 'quad budget'... But HEY, first step of admitting I have a problem can be checked off the list!!! I've always enjoyed building light weight rigs! Saw this frame and knew I had to get one done! Got this one down to 233g (while two battery straps and a boat load of zipties).
Would a regular HS1177 fit in this frame with no troubles? The product description says it was designed for that but it seems from the pictures that the swift mini is a tight fit
JC - sorry for the delay. Yes, a HS1177 would fit depending on what other parts you used with it. I agree with Tehllama - unless a HS1177 is the only camera you have then use one of the great micros on the market. A lot of the micros are around $20. The reduced size/weight of those micros keeps this build within the spirit it was designed - minimalist/light weight.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Realistically, as good at the Micro (Swift/Arrow, Sparrow/Predator/Caddx) cameras are, and considering the prices those are coming in at (~$20), I see no reason to run a larger camera.
I agree. The photos above are old. I only run micros on my new builds.
That was the only major change I made in trying to clone this build - makes sense.
