***Update 6/20/17 - The DYS F4 Flight Controller decided to failsafe. It literally stopped communicating with the FrSky XSR receiver. Plugged the same receiver in another quad, and it works just fine. Plugged another known working receiver onto the DYS F4 Flight Controller and no response... :(

I guess I'll be going back to my trusted Flight Controller.... Furious FPV Radiance...

***Update 6/17/2017 - Fell in love with the PyroDrone HyperBaby, got to try out the bigger brother...

How is your EVO holding up? I like mine, but the ramp section (which is why i wanted the EVO so i could strap on my Runcam2 HD cam) frequently busts off... :/ Also recently i cracked my rear arm slightly hitting a light post (havent gotten a replacement yet)

The EVO is holding up pretty well. I actually took off the ramp section just because it kept popping off. I decided to use a TPU printed GoPro mount from Brain3d: https://www.brain3d.co/collections/gopro-mounts-gopro-protection/products/hyperlite-evo-hd-gopro-session-mount

I'm sure they can print one for your RunCam2 HD.

Also, I did manage to break an arm. That was from a failsafe while over 100ft in the air. :( Are you running 3mm or 4mm arms? I use 4mm, don't really care to save weight.

Lately, I've been flying mainly freestyle and using my Shendrones Tweaker 5" setup as I now prefer top mounted batteries. I'm actually waiting for the MultiGP HD Top Plate to use on the EVO so I can try a top mounted battery with a GoPro. Don't know if it will work, cause the VTX antenna mount will hit the battery as it has to be mounted sideways to fit on the top plate with a GoPro. We'll see! :)

How do you like this frame? Does it fly well, or do you wish you had gotten something else?

Kbobiles   Jun 22, 2017

I personally like the frame, it flies really well, especially with a GoPro or HD camera mounted on top. You are, however, limited in space and would recommend using an AIO, like the Betaflight F3 flight controller to have all the cool features.

Honestly, it was a toss up between this and the HyperLite SS. What made me decide to go with this, is the fact an HD camera mounts low due to the slanted top plate.

The ThinkTank FPV Airport Helipak is the premier travel bag for FPV enthusiasts. I've taken this bag across the country and around the world, and I really can't imagine a better pack for the job. It's huge. It's the size of a carry-on luggage, and it's designed specifically for FPV. It offers customizable compartments that can store a handful of quads, a transmitter or two, a couple sets of goggles, batteries, tools, props and a laptop. If you're feeling lazy you can even pack a couple quads without removing the props. You'll never find yourself saying, "I wish my bag was bigger." Build Quality This is a nice bag. It offers enough padding to securely carry all your FPV gear. The exterior padding is quite thick and rigid. I feel safe packing my goggles and transmitter without any additional keep reading..

The EV100 Micro AV Recorder is a DVR for the Eachine EV100 headset. Eachine should have built this into the headset, but here we are. It's about the size of a matchbook and works quite well despite a short learning curve. It's powered by the same battery included with the EV100 and uses the white balance lead. Other than that you can use either of the included 2.5mm to 3.5mm cables to plug it into the video input/output port of the EV100. You can either strap it beside the battery in the headstrap or use the included double sided tape to mount it to the top of the goggles. Vs the Eachine ProDVR This is obviously a repurposed Eachine ProDVR, but it does simplify the design. The ProDVR has different pins for each input and output. In fact the entire side of the unit is dedicated to various keep reading..
