Moved mostly used parts to the iFlight iX5 frame. Comes in at 284g without battery. The high KV version of the cheap Racerstar motors seem to do quite well on lightweight builds.
Crash notes:
- The ix5 kit aluminium screws came a bit loose in the first bigger crash. I'll probably replace them with steel screws or add some Loctite.
- Switched to steel screws at the bottom and using loctite at the top.
- Cant recommend the Gemfan props at all. Flying nice and are light but they are not durable at all. I put some more durable Racekraft props on it.
How is the durability of this quad and how is the quality of this frame? Also, please show flight video!
The frame is holding up good so far. Had a couple of rough crashes today. Overall I like the quality of the frame (besides the aluminium screws). Of course you are trading something for the lower weight. Compared to my heavier 5inch the arms of the 4mm basplate look a bit thin.-
