The Rx used turned out to suffer from micro failsafes. Only about 0.1s long according to blackbox, but that is enough to put you out when racing. Ended up changing to an XM+.
The camera is very exposed with this frame. After breaking a couple I designed an AIO camera case and mount. This has been great and saved me from breaking a lot cameras. The TPU has enough give to let the lens dislodge instead of breaking. Much cheaper to focus a lens than replace a camera.

The Fenix Sleeper got off to a rough start but I am now happy with the setup and finally got a few laps under the belt!
And why call it the Sleeper... because no one suspects 2306 motors when they see black red bottoms :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The LowPro was always going to be a tight build with only 20mm standoffs and you are pretty much forced to use an AIO FC/PDB. The CL Racing F4 FC made for a very clean build. Out of all the current AIO FCs available I find the CL to be the most well laid out and with only the feature you need for racing.
Make sure your wire management is on point with the LowPro, otherwise you'll find the cam and VTx mounting plate won't fit correctly.
Frame review by the designer Space Cowboy.
The frame is designed around a more traditional VTx with an edge mounted SMA connector, and I originally install one which fitted perfectly. However it was failing and needed a serious upgrade so I swapped it out for a Tramp HV. This was a tight squeeze and could have been installed much easier with a right angle SMA pigtail. OR using the TBS Unify installed on the stack with the mounting PCB would have been easier!
I needed something small... no, freakin tiny for this frame as there is literally no space for an Rx. The original plan was to use an a8s for the antenna buuuut it has a terrible problem with brown outs. I ended up grabbing the RX2A and modifying it with an antenna that can be run out of the frame. This has worked so well I now have it running on two 5 inch quads.
I couldn't be happier with this build! It's running Betaflight 3.2 with dynamic filtering and it really does help with ironing out rough props after landing in a few trees.
Maiden session, second battery... tree trunk. This frame is manufactured by Armattan so the carbon is great but I still managed to snap an arm clean. Luckily I was able to order some spare arms locally in Australia (in red as a reminder) and a week late and I was back in the air. Let's hope the next busted arm is a while off.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
