so this frame i designed my self and had cut at great3d, i went of for a light as i could get away with build on 2s an while the 10000KV motors are not notorious hitters with these bigger props its got great power.. they run really quite and smooth ( I've turning off all the filtering and just running dynamic filtering ) and the thing hovers at 20% throttle. still waiting for the camera to show up to finish the build and have a Frsky XM+ Micro D16 SBUS Rx at the moment but have a much lighter on on the way. right now the dry weight is 40.7g with the 'heavy' Rx and no camera.. flys really nice and is making 288g of thrust with a take off weight of 63g but is slamming into the vBat warning buzzer on full throttle so I'm going to try changing the JST connector to xt30 on the quad and the batteries. On the black box logs I can see it getting down as low as 3v per cell under full throttle, hopefully the connector changes sorts it out.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
