After building a brushed 8250 mm multirotor, i want more oemph. But not to much so i build this.
It is much stronger and does not get carried away by the wind.
Search for good propellers is going on and i have to decide on what camera.
At first i put on Gemfan 2035, it flies alright but sucks the batteries dry in no time. Than i put on a pair of Gemfan 3025, they are to big so i cut off a piece :-) Now i have ordered Kingkong 2840, see what that bring to the experience..
So after flying around with camera transmitter, buzzer and led's, i noticed the usb plug getting really hot. The build in BEC only handles 500 ma. Sooooo instead of frying the quad i decided to put a mini 2A BEC in.
The frame is not a true X so with help from https://www.iforce2d.net/mixercalc/ i updated the mixer in Betaflight

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

I have an almost identical build, hovered last night and maiden flight today. That battery is quite heavy, you might find better flight with something lighter. Looks well and truly 3s capable with those motors. How did you find performance on the cut down 3025s? I have a set I need to trim.
How did it go? Yes the battery is heavy but i am not such an experienced pilot so i like it not to quick. I also have 3s 550 mah battery and it flies really well with it. But now i burned my OSD :-( The LED's and VTX was to much for the 500ma bec.
The cut down 3025s are ok and very fast. i have the feeling the three bladed props make it more agile, but maybe i am just imagining things
Just got back from a test filght, with the KK2840 props and stock BF 3.2.0 pids it went really well - quiet and floaty on 2s and rapid on 3s. Motors were only just warm on 3s too but did sag with the battery so will try the 3025s. Having the BEC external may actually be a blessing - better quality signal etc. https://rotorbuilds.com/build/6437
