Numero Uno Martian III
Building my first FPV quad. I started with a randomly chosen Realacc Martian III 190mm/4" kit, but wasn't excited about the bottom mounted battery so I decided to repurpose parts and build to my liking. The pics show both versions.
This one is for fun/backyard ripping on our 4 acres and pond with a bit of friendly makeshift racing with my neighbor too. I've owned and built countless buggies, trucks, fixed wing and heli's, and have been into RC since before LiPo batteries .
I went for a 4" lightweight build too keep it as light and nimble as possible for reversing direction as I get close to the streams and ponds out back.
When selecting parts, the primary influence is that I've never built a FC/gyro controlled vehicle before. I wanted a nimble, mid-level quality machine built from scratch is building and learning these systems is the whole point. I'm also not interested in some of the excessive loss of video signal I'm seeing on YouTube etc, so good quality camera/vtx/antanna was a must. I'll be building pagoda kits from FarView and utilizing my brothers 3d printer for some one-offs.
