IMPORTANT NOTICE: when they say you should loctite all the screws in the Talon's manual, they're not joking. I almost smoked my motors because I didn't loctite them and one arm was loose. The quad went into a full pid feedback loop and shot through the sky.. LOCTITE ALL SCREWS
Finished assembling the quad! Went for the 2650kv version of the motors, they are so powerful it's amazing! They pull 113A on the HQ V1S 5x4.8x3 at full throttle.
I love the stackable FC+ESC combo by HobbyWing. Upgraded my Frog Race to it a few weeks ago and it's so clean, no wiring from one PCB to the other, whatsoever. No bs connectors on the flight controller either, just the pins you need and that's it. I think it will be my go-to combo for the next builds, including this one.
I rotated the stack 90 degrees counter-clockwise to have the XT60 on the side. This implied remapping the motor pins via the CLI and indicating the FC rotation in Betaflight. Unfortunately the USB port is now to the back and not accessible with the canopy screwed in place (because of the SMA connector). In the end, I might change the SMA connector's position to point to the back instead of "up", potentially with a 3d-printed adapter, so the USB port will become reachable again.
The build ends up at 313g AUW without the battery on the HQ props. A few grams more on the DAL props. The pagoda antennas I'm gonna soon receive will be a bit lighter.
Weight with battery is about 490g, not ultra light but these motors pack a punch and the frame has little drag.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
