Spin off build of https://rotorbuilds.com/build/6815

75mm 2s FPV brushless indoor/outdoor

After the failure of my 0703 build, I was still determined to make a 2s brushless beast. Moved up to 0705 motors to handle 2s and a little longer wheelbase for stability. I went with 8000kv, after the maiden flight I could have gone 12000kv 0705 for more speed and punch. This will give some nice flight times.

Build notes:

  • Fitment required 3m tape for the stack with no lower standoff, this allowed the stack to sit further back in the frame to mount the camera inside the front standoffs.
  • Camera is hotglued in and VTX is taped to top plate. A 3d print cover/mount would be nice. extra weight.
  • De-cased receiver to fit. I recommend something smaller like FS-RX2A. I wanted more range for this.

Todo:

  • Clear heat shrink the VTX.

hi
i want build this quad with 0703 12000kv motors . but each motor on 2cell used 3.7 Amp and Fc output 6A
4 motor use about 16A
Does the FC output a total of 6 amps or Or on every output of 6 amps?
Is this FC responsive?

I didn't have good luck with 0703 motors on 2s. The motors would burn up after 1 or 2 packs. That's why I rebuilt it with 0705.

This ESC had 6A per motor. FC is fine.

How does it fly and handle crashes?

My issue is I don't have enough time to build. What little time I get I try and get some flying in.

Hey, just to clear up, were you burning up the 15000kv and so moved down to 8000kv?

dickflys   Dec 05, 2017

SirUlrich - My first attempt at this build was running BR0703 15000kv motors on 2S. These motors would not hold up to 2S.

I changed to BR0705 and lower 8000KV, the higher KV motors were sold out at the time. I would recommend using BR0705 and 12000kv if possible.

How is the VTX wired up to the FC/OSD? (There isn’t a lot of documentation on the website)

The yellow signal wire from the cam to the VTX was cut (I might have extended it I dont remember) and then hooked up to Vin in and Vout on the Flight controller. The power is running off the GND +5v. The images are on banggood. http://img.banggood.com/thumb/water/oaupload/banggood/images/EC/0A/f9c08e65-1f8b-4301-a503-8f22aca0e066.jpg

Ooooh, now I see. I thought the V stood for voltage, not video.🤦‍♂️

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
