My latest built after a view crashes.
540g in total with the LiPo :)
Definitelyworth a try.
Big shout out to my friend Marty who showed me anything you want to know about Copters. And Joshua Bardwell who makes easy to understand educational videos on YT. :)
This build is suitable for: If you are lazy and don't want to solder much this is the right setup for you.
The Frame: I wanted to built 5" Copter and i didn't want it to be as big as a ZMR250. I also liked the the pricepoint and the good manufacturing quality. The 4mm arms have great stability and you only have to unscrew 3 screws to change an arm. For this built there is literally too much space for everything, but if you want to upgrade to another fc and vtx there will be enough space to make everything fit in. What I dont like is that the LiPo is mounted on the very top. For the next built i will go for an armattan cameleon or its clone, the Scorpion X220.
The FC: After i had several issues with the Naze32 and the SpRacing Evo F3, i was tired of hours soldering the parts together and watching my drone not working, i was looking for a PDB and FC combo or an All in One Solution that can handle DSHOT 600 as well. The Problem was that i burned way too much money with shi*ty escs or motors or fcs that i wanted to give the hobby last chance without spending a lot of money again. I stumbled over this incredible AIO Solution, which combined everything i needed and i didn't have to put much effort in soldering lots of stuff again. Furthermore it is absolutely cheap for what you get and the built quality is also really well. The only thing to complain about is that you built will not be clean looking because you have to put all ESC cables on only one solderpad and that the ipx conector could fall off in case of a crash. The next built will be with the newest version of the FC: The F4 V5PRO Flight Controller. But by now i can't recommend the
F3 anymore. After several Crashes the onboard VTX snapped off the board. I was able to solder it back in one more time but then it was ripped off again and damaged the conductor tracks so i wasn't able to fix it again. So i "upgraded" it with an EACHINE VTX03. So no fancy shmancy OSD anymore. But i finally figured out how to wire up the Telemetry and now it shouldn't be a big problem anymore
The ESCs: At first i used the Emax bullets, but those were not reliable and burned my copter twice and thats why i went on with the dys . The ESCs came already with the signal capacitor removed so i was able to use them with Dshot600 immediately. Very nice. I would use them again.
The Motors: Solid and powerfull standart motors with great quality. Also used by many on this website. That guarantees a good base of Solutions for your Problems and a good support by the community. But keep in mind that they are not the most durable ones you can get.
The Props: I have not much experience yet but i can tell you that they are pretty durable
FPV Cam: A standart cam that works well in different lightning situations. Next Time i will use another just to see if its worth an upgrade.
Reciever: Good range and supports SBUS and SmartportTelemetry
Goggles and Transmitter: The googles are not the best, but it offers you a standalone display if you dont want to fly with goggles put on. For whatever reason :D Of course i will use a Fatshark in the future or anything comparable. The transmitter offers a lot of customization abilities.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
