Easy Eachine Wizard stretch X mod

My friend bought an eachine wizard for his first quad which was on sale for some crazy price like £75/$105 a little while back, After around 10 or so crashes the main bottom plate began to crack so we looked for some spare frame pieces and straight away it looked so simple to convert the frame to a stretch x instead and shave off some weight too.

All that was needed was two extra frame plates which hold the arms together, one for a top plate and one to replace the main body section, and an aluminium camera mount (haven't got mine yet in the post somewhere) so all in all around £6/$8 for this mod

Dry weight now at 305g, could still shave a fair bit of weight if I replaced all the steel hardware with aluminium.

This may not be for everyone but I thought it was pretty easy, cheap and transformed the look completely! haven't flown it yet but should carve some nice lines now!

I've been flying mine like that for months now, I made a custom brace that reinforces the standoffs just under the top plate to keep the "safety cage" around the electronics from bending. I even have another one that I use that way for LOS that I don't have FPV gear on. I used the racerstar 2306's and lowered the top plate on the LOS one and it HAULS

Thats a sweet idea! I was telling my friend to get some aokfly 2306 motors as they're pretty cheap but I don't think the 20a esc will handle them for long haha

No, probably not, but I don't know, I haven't run an osd that shows amp draw. I use a set of 30's for the 2306's.

is there anything holding the cam in? or is it just squeezed in there?

At the minute its just wedged in there, once I get the camera bracket I will mount to the top plate

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
