A new little crew just join my collection.

I really surprise how stable it is, very easy in tuning, it just fly so well. The cheapest stack I ever bought from banggood Super_S F4 $28. The stack is soft mounted by 3 layer double side tape under ESC and a bit of soft foam between ESC and FC

Again I serious suggest this buzzer, I sound very loud. It save my quads a lot of times https://goo.gl/Vf3p63

Notice:

  • Need to add some SMD caps as near as the power pad of ESC for get clear video
  • The Super_s F4 stack only support 0.5 A bec not enought power for XM+, VTX03 . So I added 1A step down for serving VTX, camera and buzzer
  • Softmount the 4 in 1 esc to the frame with at least 3 layers
  • Put some very soft foam between FC and ESC and only connect them by 2 screws but not all 4 and don't tie hard leave a very small gap so they can absorb the micro vibration => this might only be true for small build and not very strong motor
  • Don't let anything touch the FC on above leave some room for it even 0.5 mm

Parts list:

**Update:

  • upgrade the motor to RCX 1103 78000kv, Amazing!!!
  • change ESC to Racerstar 6A 16x16mm. Fpv feed very clear, don't need cap anymore https://goo.gl/8zjhq1

Flight video

Updated: Having improvement for X2 ELF 88mm buid, Swapped Hulkie prop to Gemfan 4 blade 2035, most of fpv noise and vibration at top speed disappear

**Update:

  • upgrade the motor to RCX 1103 78000kv, Amazing!!!
  • change ESC to Racerstar 6A 16x16mm https://goo.gl/8zjhq1

Just curious, what's the step down converter for?

I think I am in the same position as you are at this point. I am not sure exactly what you actually did with the step down. My board reacts and operates well in Betaflight but will not "come to life" on battery power alone. Do I need to send power directly to the FC beyond the 6 pin connector/

HI Rhygin. Here is how i connect things together:

  1. FC connect to ESC, If the ESC not provide power then your board having problem, you can try to connect FC to battery directly but be-careful with polarity ( + on pin 5 and - on pin 6) http://img.banggood.com/thumb/water/oaupload/banggood/images/EC/0A/f9c08e65-1f8b-4301-a503-8f22aca0e066.jpg
    • receiver XM+ connect to FC for power
But if you cannot power the FC via standard provided cable you should take a short video and open a ticket send to after sale support they will take care for you. After that you can try to revive the board ^_^
  2. Step down connect to battery.
    • VTX03 connect to Step down
    • Camera connect to VTX03 output +/-
Why I need the step down. It's because the FC bec only 0.5 mAh it cannot work stable for the whole system especially I use VTX03. So the Step down would responsible in provide power for VTX and camera.
I connect camera to VTX03 out put because the VTX03 has filter too and I think I got more clean video.

Yes that me on MMC, It's weight 47.5g. This guy a bit heavy due to the frame and I swapped 6 nylon screws to metal screws, 8 small smd caps add 3g more

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
