First medium/long-range rig! It's definitely a tight build on this frame dubbed "DiveX" by fpvframe.ch. The frame is a 7" true X with a bunch of 3D parts for GoPro, GPS, vTX antenna, Crossfire antenna, etc. Still rocking the Hobbywing combo like in all my other builds. Still on the Runcam Sparrow because I have 16/9 goggles and the Eagle 2 (Pro) has more latency. I did some waterproofing (snowproofing) on this quad, using "Liquid tape" or "Plastidip".
Weight with everything but the battery is 443g (including GoPro and props). AUW is 711/727g on 5S 1800/2200mAh. The 1800mAh is from Swaytronic, the 2200 from mylipo.de
With a conservative end voltage, I get about 8min flight time on the 1800mAh 5s battery (hybrid cruising / freestyle), and it seems I could get about 11-12min from the 2200mAh if I extrapolate my last flight.
EDIT: I changed the TPU mount at the back to house the GPS module and Crossfire antennas in a vertical orientation + I added LEDs.
EDIT 2: I switched to Hobbywing motors for more kV and better 6" compatibility
Did you need a lens for the Runcam Sparrow?
Clean build!
How much flight time do you get out of this now?
Also, what kind of ESC do you have under the hood? 40a? too much, too little?
Thanks for all your help.
Yes, I bought the hobbywing combo so I didn't put an ESC entry above since the combo includes both and it would skew the price. The combo has 40A ESC, which is overkill for this build but I love the cleanliness of this stack so much that I put it in all my quads. One note though, I put rubber standoffs in one of these combos between the ESC and FC and ended up ripping off the pin header that connects them in a crash. So now I mount them with nylon standoffs or the provided metal spacers on a screw.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Very very nice. Someone thought things out with the printed parts and layout especially the gps/immortal t mount. Nice job.
Hey Charles thanks! Yeah the base design of these parts was done by the frame designer but I made my own version to add the immortal T and GPS (which were not included in the initial vTX antenna mount). In the end and after some testing, I placed the immortal T horizontal at the top of the GoPro mount because it gave me better reception, the vertical mounting shown in the pictures is too close to the frame and stack.
Yeah many print the T antenna mount in the Gopro mount. Gets it up there nicely/ Nice build.
Hi beeb! can you share the GPS mount files? I really like the position. :)
Nice job!
Hey! Im using this one finally. The version with the immortal t vertically mounted was not working well. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0imrx9do3x92cg0/FPV-Antenna-holder-thin-v11.stl?dl=0
