Ascent 3" with RunCam split 2

I have been flying micros since I got into FPV, but once I discovered HD footage on a 5" quad I stopped flying my micros as much. So.. I set out to build a full HD 3" quad that was still super lightweight. I have only flown a few packs (in the snow) but so far I'm super impressed with it, and I only had 3s 650 packs can't wait to try 4s . See flight here

I love this build and decided to copy it for my first drone. Can I ask a couple of questions? I can't find motors like that so purchased 1407 3600kv - will these be overkill and shorten flight time? Or should I get some 1106 5100kv? Also where did you stick your Frsky receiver in the stack? And last question did you wire the camera ground to vtx instead of pdb? I've read this reduces noise but not sure if necessary..

Hi Scott,
I think those motors will be amazing. I here really good things about them and they are very efficient. I think they are best on 4s btw. I actually have the receiver in the stack , the xsr-m is a 20x20 stack mount receiver. As for ground I wired the VTX to the ground pad on the runcam split board. For normal builds always wire the vtx ground and cam ground to the same ground on the FC or PDB. This build I did that but by using the ground on the split board which also powers the cam ( same ground). My friend knows the motors you are getting I will double check with him on the best batteries to use. Good luck with your build , let me know if you need anything else.

Your diagram looks perfect except you show the green wire going from power in to a RX, think its just a mistake in the drawling but wanted to give you a heads up

The frame came with 2 30x30 to 20x20 adapters. One is a lightweight 2 piece the other a big thick single chunk of carbon, I used that one.
