This is my first 5 inch build. It all went together much more easily that my previous 3 incher. I'm still waiting on some soft standoffs for the flight controller, but decided to give it a test fly in any case.
I really like this frame - inexpensive, and looks good. Hopefully it's going to be robust too.
Good job!
The cables would be less exposed if they pass first behind the aluminum standoff ... (sorry my poor english)
Looks nice. How'd you manage the orange finish? You can cut those motor wires a little shorter.
It was only after buying orange props etc that I realised I had an aerosol can of orange spray paint in the cupboard. It's supposed to be metal compatible, though I didn't put much effort into prepping the frame. Have to see how it holds up.
Yep the motor wires are too long. I was worried I was going to have to swap a few to get the right rotation direction. Then I learnt how to do this via the blheli suite.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

DId you mount the camera directly onto the frame or did you need some kind of adapter or mount?
With a bit of fiddling the runcam mounting fitted into the frame.
