The original idea for this build was to experience the difference between betaflight and kiss. I've been flying my chameleon with a betaflight FC andso I've decided to buy a second frame and start from scratch. I've been inspired by some of the builds here on the site and decided to dress this one with black & white (well silver...) suit. The choice for the tramp HV was not an easy one, there are quite a number of good vtx out there. I chose the tramp as it comes with a shield but after I found out that some folks had reported problems with kiss esc and the tramp, I have decided to install a cap on each of the esc's. the result I think it's ok (optically) although they are quite big to fit.
Lots of wiring to be done on this one: I have used 30 awg for the data links between the esc and fc. For the power lines I've used the 22 awg all black. This decision required extra caution during assembly and soldering, I quite like the result so it was worth imho. Colored wires are those from supplied with the vtx and receiver as I don't have the capability to crimp my own connectors.
A note of caution: you might notice the copper foil which I have used to wrap the receiver. I am not sure if this does help or make the reception... Time will tell.
Do you use other props besides those? I feel like this build, with those super smooth motors running kiss, is begging for some hq or cyclone props. I own those dal t5045 props that u r running and from experience I can tell u that they r inefficient, heavy, and have horrible prop wash. I’m just telling u because I feel like u would get a better experience with better props
Thanks! Indeed I do have the cyclones and prefer them to the std t5045 which are a bit more durable. On my bench tests both came close on terms of absolute thrust and efficiency. Totally agree on the prop wash though.
