Alright a while ago I set out to do a hyperlite build. Fast forward a lot of time and I have finally done it. I made two versions. One with 2722kv and one with 3022kv. I have made a video in which I do a discussion of the Katana frame by Race 412. Soon I will be doing a comparison between the two different motors.

This rotorbuilds page is based on the 3022kv version.

I used 25mm standoffs instead of the 30mm that come with the frame. It has less than a mm space left when using the 25mm standoffs. Close but it works. I 3D printed the white 20x20mm adapter that is designed by Knifa (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2288501).

-Yes the xt60 is not properly flowed in this photo. I have fixed it.
-No I don't mess around when it comes to softmounting
-watch the video for my thoughts on building the frame

I actually have not found the courage to run a heavier prop than the 5038 biblade on the 3022kv. Im afraid I will blow the ESC (XJB428).

I'm having some osd noise issues with mine buyback the stack is holding up no problem. Have you got a good pid set? If so Wana share it. If you make sure you have a nice big cap I don't see any issues with the stack. I've run race craft 5030s, cyclone 5045s and I'm going to try some gemfan 5042s in the morning. The lower pitch tri blades seem fine. Batterys are coming down hot but the motors are cool and the stack is totally taking care of biz

I have only tuned it on the 5038biblades. It is basically default pids with the exception of: ~+15pgain on both pitch and roll. Anti-gravity on 2,2. Filters: pt1, notch 1 and 2 turned off.

I'll give a triblade a shot

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
