Using parts from my FPVC Secret Santa package to make an operational quad.

01/03/18 - Because this frame has no mount holes for a top plate/flight controller I have to get creative with my stack and camera mounting. I'm borrowing ideas from the Hyphy Volcor which takes a 15mm standoff in the front and 35mm standoff in back to mount an FPV cam on top of bolts, nuts, and bobbins. The Volcor fins are 3D printed and fit onto the hex standoffs and the full size cam will sit between them. I plan to make this a night flyer and will add some LED's in appropriate areas.

01/08/18 - I posted a picture of the frame on Instagram and the creator recognized it as a baseplate from a Falcon 185. Even more excited about building this since I now know this is another Falcon Multirotors product. Over the weekend I extended all the motor wires and installed to the 4 in 1 ESC. I recently received a box of Flight controllers that may or may not work. I grabbed the cleanest looking Seriously Dodo board and wired it in to a Pololu. Added a pair of Green LED's to the rear arms.

01/22/18 - The Seriously Dodo controller was acting odd so I swapped it out for a Revo from the box. I installed a Wolfwhoop 200mW VTX between the rear standoff and held it in place with a pair of zip ties. This was way better than trying to lay it flat below the camera and add a crazy pigtail. On my initial flight the molex connector on the vtx failed and the Biblade props snapped. A switch to triblade cyclones let me do an anglemode line of sight flight. The quad isn't the most powerful but it flies and it's fun.
