Mach 1 with 5mm racing arms. Decided to build my first dedicated race quad. Build was very straightforward. The 5mm race arms weigh 40g vs the normal arms 46g. I don’t have the 4mm race arms to compare weight. Final weight came in at 294g without the GoPro Couch. With the GoPro couch it weighs 306g. The velcro strap for the gopro weighs 5g. Figure 73g for a GoPro Session 5 and you are looking at 384g with GoPro installed. I don’t intend to race with the GoPro installed, but wanted to have the ability to install one if I decide to record HD video.

Update 3/18/2018:

I have been flying this frame a lot a local races and I really like it. The 5mm race arms are very durable. I removed the GoPro couch and installed a canopy. I had to make small notches in the canopy to allow room for the front motor cables, but other than that it fits great. I was able to lower the stack a bit and use the shorter standoffs in the back. I also ordered an Eagle 2 Micro and will be giving that one a try shortly.

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
