This build started out as a budget build made with the cheapest of the components available. However, as it is likely to happen in this hobby, older parts are being gradually phased out with newer and costlier components. The flight controller got upgraded from a KK2.1.5 board to a Naza-M Lite. It looks like the motors will be upgraded next, followed a better gimbal.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Nice! How about some photos? What motors and gimbal are you considering?
I will post some pics as soon as I get back home from work. Not a pretty picture though...pretty much a rat's nest of wires in there.
For motors, as you suggested, thinking about the SunnySky's.
For gimbal, I followed your link to the 3-axis gimbal and it is in my budget. I hate to give up so soon on my GLB 2-axis gimbal but it is just not stable enough. Lots of quick jerks from side to side while in flight. Also, the mounting is a pain. I see the one you have has good mounting holes which will make my work so much easier!
It's a great gimbal and you can't go wrong with the motors, but neither are the solution to every problem. Like I mentioned in the other thread it really comes down to balancing and tuning. Do you have a Du-Bro?
I have a cheap prop balancer. Some of my props were initially balanced. I will see if I can fly four balanced props this weekend.
I've heard the magnetic balancers are junk. Apparently the Du-Bro is the only way to go.
Great! One more thing to buy!
