It's finally here, our aerodynamic and light-weight race quad: Räsvelg 5. It's the result of dozens of prototypes, tiny tweaks, and an overall major re-imagination of what a quad with a canopy can look like. Designed with 5mm replaceable arms, a battery strap solution that doesn't require weaving, and a sleek canopy that mounts a HS1177 with 1.8mm, 2.5mm, or 2.8mm lenses, Räsvelg is the ultimate racer. The frame weighs in at just 75g including the canopy and camera mount, making it one of the lighter quads on the market, but where Räsvelg really shines is aerodynamics. I've never flown a quad so... quiet. The skinniness of the arms makes for very little drag, resulting in a much quieter quad. That is, until it's pointed at you mid-corner, then it sounds like the ultra-aggressive corpse-swallowing instrument of winning that it is.
Overall this is one of my most favorite builds, it's maintainable, goes together easily, and supports quick battery strap swaps in the field.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

How do you like that 4-in-1 ESC? I'm considering getting it
Yeah, how is it?
These Cicada 30A and 35A 4in1s have performed just fine. I did blow up one of them, but it was on a waterproof quad that had been submerged, and most recently was decapitated in a violent crash, so it could have been anything. I've never had one die from pushing it too hard, they're very reliable and make builds so much faster.
Huge annoyance: The red wire on the JST is not connected to anything, and you really would hope it's just VBAT, but it's not. So I always wire that part of the connector to an adjacent cap on the board so I don't have to solder anything to the 4in1 to connect it to my FC.
Another, smaller annoyance: The pads on the FETs on both the 30A and 35A version get touched by your standoffs, so you CANNOT use metal standoffs, you MUST use nylon above and below, or an o-ring or spacer. This could really ruin your day if you don't heed that advice.
Other than that, they're pretty sweet. No BEC, of course, but I use Pololus on my Sirins anyway.
Thank you for sharing this info.
I'm a bit confused as I thought you were using the Infantry _s.
Gil
Ah, yes, I tried the Infantry and had two FET failures on the #1 ESC in normal flight. I would not recommend that board. I had since switched to the Cicada 30A and 35A for these builds and forgot to update the page. Sorry about that!
Alright, I will stay away from it, although it's one of the only which has BEC and 6S support.
I'm expecting to get this frame next week!!!
