Well, MRM (unfortunately) is closing their doors. Couldn't help myself at their big sales event, so I'll be building this super tiny brushless "Pocketknife". It's a 69mm stretch X frame and will use 0703 motors for a great indoor acro beast.

Nice! Reminds me of my Modulus 65. I actually think I talked about that with the designer and we laughed about it! Released around the same time with very similar designs, great minds think alike! Definitely didn't notice it was a strecth though, neat!

do the sunnysky motors have copper wires or regular silicone? The racerstar ones i got were copper, and a pain to solder.

any tips for sildering?

wesblake   May 04, 2018

Nope, sorry. I was actually about to give up on the build I was so frustrated. I just kept soldering them back on until they stuck. I dipped ends of wire in flux, tried different tips, temps, nothing worked well in the end. Something I hope they fix on these smaller motors.

I did something similar, where i soldered the wires, finally, and then put dabs of hot glue on the tabs.

They closed their brick & mortar, but said they were going to try to keep the frame business up online.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
