Martian 6" Budget Slammed Rebuild

This is a rebuild of my very first 5" quad. Still going with a very budget build, with some simple added bells and whistles (racewire, racelites). I upgraded the old budget motors (racerstar 2205) to the newest budget motors (Samguk 2306 2500kv). I dropped in the cheapo 35A AIO ESC which has worked well for me on my other 5" build so far. I have the 6" arms on this for some prop flexibility and clean air flow. I'll probably fly it on 5"-5.5", but I might experiment a bit with 6" too. Maybe too high KV for 6"? Not sure, will experiment. I also managed to slam the frame down to 20mm which I like quite a lot. Using the new Frsky X-lite with it (normally use Spektrum). I feel like my builds are getting a bit cleaner and more tidy which makes me feel good inside. XD

how did you mount the FC?

cutthenoise   Jun 15, 2018

I used a 3D printed TPU mount that allows you to mount a 20x20 board on a 30x30 stack. I got it from catalyst machineworks.

What battery do you use??? how many calls and how many mahs and what brand.

I have some Tattu that are 1300mah 4S. And I recently got some 1500mah 4S CNHL that I like too.

Nice job! Are those 20mm standoffs?

The Aomway Commander V2s are the 2018 followup to the successful Aomway Commander V1 FPV headset. Unlike their predecessor, which targeted the FatShark Dominator V3s, the Commander V2s have set their sights higher toward the FatShark HD3s. Instead of 16:9 displays with a 32 degree field of view (FOV) the V2s now sport 4:3 displays with an impressive 45 degree FOV. And unlike the HD3s, these switch..

The FB 009 is a lightweight and compact budget FPV headset. When I first saw this I thought it might be worth a try. I'm never quite sure which headset to recommend at this price point, so let's see how this stands up. Most notably it includes a USB chargeable 1S 1200mah battery which is a decent capacity for an internal battery. The headset is compact and features a 3" 480x320 16:9 display. The..
