This is essentially my previous Airblade EX Ultralight Toothpick build except I;

i. Ditched the Caddx Baby Turtle
ii. Switched the BetaFPV 1105 5000kV motors for some more powerful EMAX RS 1108 4500kV motors

The Baby Turtle switch was forced since it didn't survive a fairly innocuous crash - which makes it the THIRD Caddx Baby Turtle to die in a crash while everything else survived....you can draw your own conclusions from that. Ideally, I would have replaced it with a nano-style camera but I already had a Ratel hanging around which is a micro-style camera and a bit bigger (and heavier).

Switching from the 1105s to the 1108s resulted in a significant boost in terms of performance with 3inch props - while the video below doesn't show it, this thing rips. It does, however, absolutely murder the battery (3S 650mAh) in under 2 minutes so I think I might end up scale down the motor output a bit to see if that helps.

I also recently picked up an Insta360 GO which is a fascinating little camera with some pretty neat features and essentially lipo-strapped it onto the top. I have a TPU-mount on the way.

ADDENDUM:

The TPU mount arrived (from Brain3D) and it's fantastic! Perfect fit and much, much more secure than my 'solution'!

Here's a short flight, mostly cruising with a tiny bit of acro at the end - this was before I got the TPU mount so I was worried that the Insta360 would fall out, lol!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
