My next Armattan Gecko 3 Shark Byte build. I was lucky enough to fix the HolyBro Kakute F7 Mini FC/ESC I had originally planned to put in my 4 inch Gecko. Turned out to be bent pins on the FC causing the ESC to not power the FC when the battery is connected. I designed a new TX5S.1 holder for this build, but it's a 20x20 stack mount, so should fit anywhere you can mount 20x20. I went with the T-Motor 2203.5 motors, because I have become a fan of them on my 4 inch Gecko, and wanted to see what power they could bring to a 3 inch Gecko. I redesigned the original Gecko 3 antenna holder to be similar, but lighter then the 4 inch version. I still need to replace the original cable that came with the camera, and I'm hoping the HDZero MIPI Cable 40mm will be compatible. I'm also debating if I want to put ducts on the props, just for fun. It took me a week, but I was able to designed some 76mm ducts, which I'm testing on my other 3 inch Gecko, probably design some 90mm ducts for the 4 inch later. All in all I'm happy with this build and I'm hoping to take it out for it's maiden flight this weekend.
1/4/2022 - Upgraded Camera and VTX and designed an HDZero Race v2 mount to get rid of the noise coming from the front motor wires into the video feed. Still haven't had a chance to take it out yet because of weather. But if anybody is looking to see how the T-Motor 2203.5 motors handle on this quad, pretty amazing by the way, I upgraded my other Gecko 3 build with the same motors and you can see that video here... https://rotorbuilds.com/build/25974.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

The motors look crazy big on this build. Whats your AUW w/o session and mount? Flight times and how does she fly? Cool looking build, I like it!.
It's about 220g without the mount. I meant to take it out today for a maiden flight but didn't have the time. I'll be testing out my other Gecko 3 as well as one of my Gecko 4 builds with newly designed ducts to see how they fair as cinewhoops. I'll most likely take her out then and post some videos.
Did you get to maiden her? I'm also curious about the AUW/lipos/flight times.
I'd like to try shark byte on my Apex 4 but it's pushing 350g with 2004 motors and an SMO 4K (30g), and feels a little sluggish. Not sure another 10-15g ish is a good idea :-D
Beautiful looking build in any case, love it!
No, I still haven't had a chance to take it out. I had some video issues with the video feed a while back and pretty much put it on the shelf till I could get a new camera. Waiting on either my Digisight 3 or HDZero cameras to come in. But once I do, I'll post video. :D
