Testing Composite Innovations prototype 4" frame: https://www.facebook.com/composite.innovations.1
Dry 139g
AUW 233g
Built to rip below 250g and f*ckskirt Canada's Interim Model Aircraft regulations. Currently flying/ripping and testing.
I custom dremel'd a top plate from an busted LS-210 frame to mount the camera on, works well for now. Composite innovations will have a top plate design for the next iteration.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

How do those DAL bi-blades feel? I just bought some for an upcoming 4" build.
They are the best I've tried so far with this quad. RK4x4x3 almost fried the motors (they started to smell). HQ 4.5 bi-blade's had to use a prop adapter, had bad wobbles, and exploded after touching scraggle. The DALs are great, need to tune out high throttle oscillations. I tried RK 3" quad blades, they were nice too, but a little more amp hungry. I have a bunch of other kinds, but there's mostly bullnose on the market. I'll be weighing each prop before trying them from now on to protect the motors. 2g seems to be safe, 3g is not so safe.
Thanks for the info! It seems there's a lot of exploration going on in the 4" prop arena. I'm looking forward to seeing more options. I'll be running the 16A KISS CC, so I may not have the luxury of running 4" tri-blades, but at least I can drop down to 3" to experiment with tri's and quad's.
Looks like these 1407 3800kv motors are too high kv for 4" props, they get hot very easily. Going to try 3200 or 2900kv for 4" props instead.
I hope my 3600kvs handle them okay! I know a number of people running 4" props on these BH Tornados so I believe I should be okay.
I like the 3200kv rcx motors and I'm trying the newer 3400kv 1407's from rcx that have the notchy strong magnets like the BH Tornados do. As for props, the DAL 4045's tend to bend and wobble in strange ways, they bend horizontally! I now go with the kingkong 4045's or the more delicate rcx 4045's.
