Wanted something robust that my son could fly and that I could also use indoors in the winter. But I'm getting little more than 2 minutes of battery time.
Maybe the batteries are too heavy? How much does your rig weigh?
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

I just have the same autonomy on 350mah 3s batteries (6500kv motor). Big batteries do not offer any significant increase (3min15 with 800mah). Your 2s 1000kv setup requires more amp draw and "weak" batteries won't make it. I doubt the 350mah would survive for long, and bigger ones will add to much weight. For now I would give a try to the HQProp 3 blades: they are more efficient than FFPV props.
