That's what's been holding me up as well. Since I switched to the Xiaomi Yi I had to wait a month for the cable, but when it arrived it was the wrong cable. I only just now received the replacement. I'm looking forward to getting back into some FPV flight.

I've used the monitor once, picture quality was pretty good. The glare from the Sunnis a different story, but it was really sunny out.

How is the battery life on it?

I charge the monitor after about two outings with the quad, normally running through a couple of bats each time. So probably around 1.5 hours total use before I charge.

How do you like that gimbal?

I like it, performs well for the cost. Best thing is how easy it is to rebuild the gimbal if it gets broken. Mine was destroyed in a crash with my CX-20, $15 in plastic parts was all I needed to rebuild with the motors and control board and now I'm back up and running.

Not yet, I'm doing a photoshot this weekend for a realtor, a real gig! :) filming a large lake front property to produce a 2 min clip to show off the property and view.

Neat, have you been fine tuning your video platform? Even after 6 months I'm not confident enough in my video to sell it.

I'm still working on the platform, the realtor actually approached me, I work with her husband. Lucky for me there is next to nobody offering this service where I am.

The difficult part is dealing with the FAA regulations. I looked into applying for the 333 exemption, but even if I get it I cannot use it without a pilot's license. I'm just waiting for the FAA to put out the new rules. So in the mean time I'm focusing on this website to try to get a foothold into the industry.

lucky for me there are no restrictions in Canada as of yet. I'm going to be putting together a site as well to discuss multi-rotors and aerial photography and eventually use as a lead generator. I had planned on doing all of this just for fun, but it looks like it may turn into a side business. If I can recoup the cost of my build I'm happy, anything beyond that is a bonus. I'll be upgrading to a 3 axis gimbal with my first payday. You've been doing an awesome job on this site BTW!

Wow, what an opportunity! I wish it was that easy to get started in the US. Although if it was I may not have built this site, so maybe that's a good thing!

I'm sure I'll have some hurdles to overcome as well, regulations will eventually be coming to Canada. Depending on how well things take off I'll either pursue getting the proper licenses and whatnot or go back to hobby flying.

Hopefully they make the transition smooth so it doesn't disrupt your business.

I found that taking photos outside in the sun works great for increasing the sharpness. This is particularly true for these mobile device cameras.

Any thoughts to adding the ability to upload a video to the site? i know most of us are playing with aerial photography and everyone always asks "how's that gimbal perform" etc. Just a thought.

You can paste a youtube.com link to any comment or thread and it'll embed just like RCGroups. I may include a dedicated section for videos at some point, but right now my goal is to add a build log feature to share pictures and discuss upgrades.
