I feel like I have been lurking on this site for a bit, and have been contemplating buying a Wizard, or building one first. Every time I start pricing something out, I feel like It gets a little to expensive. After stumbling across Whiffles post on his Eachine killer, I cloned his build and started adding what I think I would want.

Ok, so I have ordered all the parts that I think I will need. I will start building this thing as soon as the parts start showing up and posting some pictures.
Have a look at my Golden Leopard build for the FC and ESC. I believe the ESC I'm using is a better choice because it's got a current sensor and 3A switching regulator, not to mention it's cheaper. While you can go with the FC you have listed the current sensor and regulator are a little redundant. You can use any of the older Omnibus flight controllers and power it via the 5V ESC input, but for the price the FC you've got will do just fine and you won't have to worry about heat issues as it doesn't have a linear regulator. Those motors should be fine, but I think Emax has a better track record. I really like the RS2205S 2300kvs. If you want to save a little money you can use the VTX03 video transmitter. You also want to be able to run 25mw or 200mw if you plan to fly with others at some point. 600mw will stomp other people's signals. Since you've got OSD on both your camera and FC you probably don't need the X4R for telemetry, so I'd just get the Frsky XM+ to save a little more money. Also, since your FC or 4-in-1 could both have a 3A 5V regulator you don't need a step down module.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Looks good! How's it fly?
Well, I was surprised to find out how much of a beating it can take. :). It is so much fun though, and surprisingly fast and agile. I need to find an HD camera to put on it so I can get some decent flight footage. I think that this ended up being the best choice for my first quad. It was straight forward to put together, but there are some pieces that didn't go together perfectly. I like having to think outside the box a bit.
Awesome, happy to hear you got it flying! I've been flying the Mobius Mini B on mine and it's pretty decent for the price. Then there's the Runcam Split which looks really promising.
