The upper frame of the Tomo Komodo frame meant to hold a Runcam Swift Mini looked good in the website images but it's super sketchy in real life. I mean wow. I don't know if the designer even flies quads.

At least he put in flat top plate in the box (with an confusing split hole in the back (I filled that with epoxy and drilled it out)). Using my own 25mm standoffs, I was able to fit a Runcam Swift Micro.

In case you are wondering, since they look like sticks in the picture, the arms are 6.75mm wide.

I am using 2x of the Lumenier 20A 2in1 ESCs because I bought the parts a few months ago before a couple of really nice 20A 4in1 ESCs were announced. The default firmware on the ESCs was non-functional (why did they even ship them this way?), so I flashed the firmware to DShot600.

With props but without a battery, this bird weighs 150 grams.

Yes, the props are backwards. I am running reverse prop rotation. The first time my Helix burrowed its way through a tree rather than getting hung up, I was hooked. Now all my quads are reverse prop direction.

update 1: I attempted to change out the Furious Mini Rx for a FrSky XM. Unfortunately, no matter what I did, the FC did not recognize the XM's D16 signal. I put the Furious receiver back in, which is D8, and the FC could see the receiver again. This behavior suggests that the Flip32 F4 Nano FC can't handle a D16 receiver. -wrong- It can, just on the RX6 line and you have to fiddle with the connections a bit, sacrifice a calf, call and apologize to your first girlfriend, and sleep for 3 days - then it works.

update 2: Komodo survived a fall from 571 feet with no damage at all (battery has a dent, but still works)

Really clean and cool build!

How's that XF Power battery? Have been eying them for a while...

They work well for regular flying but you can't push them at all. They are good considering what you pay and they are usually in stock. Long battery cables.

looks awesome!

how do you wire this flight controller?
I cannot get in touch with anyone at RTF and following the diagram provided I have already fried one board!
Please help.
Btw I'm using the exact same esc as well.

There is a fairly huge piece of paper that comes with the F4 Nano that shows all of the pin in and outs.

I am calling shenanigans on the Dark 18A esc. Racerstar decided to use the mounting locations as vias, which wouldn't be bad if they all were ground - but they decided to make 2 of them bat+ and 2 gnd. That alone wouldn't be horrible, but they also made the holes 2.2mm, so I can't use M3 nylon hardware and M2 nylon hardware will break in an instant.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
