Last June I lost my 550 hex to the bottom of a murky lake and I immediately started ordering parts for a new AP rig. The maiden flight for the Tarot was on the 4 of July 2016, but has mostly been gathering dust as well as most of my AP quads when I started building mini's last August. Well it's time to break 'em out dust them down and have some fun at the local lakes, rivers and ATV mud holes at the camp..
BTW... With the help of one of the local divers we found the hex and she is back in action as well.
That's quite an AP rig there! Do you have any footage up? I built an AP rig a couple years ago with a cheap 3-axis gimbal and had the hardest time tuning it to get decent footage. After crashing a couple times and tediously repairing the gimbal I gave up on it. It wasn't fun anymore. Actually, that's the main reason I went to mini quads. Looks like it went for a swim? Ouch.
I have a ton of footage on file, but never got around to editing anything before getting out of the big rigs. That was actually my 550 hex that spent the night at the bottom of the lake. Now they both mostly sit on the shelf now that I'm building mini's.
I sold my F450 when it still had some value, but part of me still wishes I kept it for the memories.
