With MDX quickly approaching I was presented with a quad essentially sponsored by Falcon Multirotors and ReadytoFlyQuads.com. I received the Falcon 185 frame in exchange for my ongoing efforts to develop an adjustable micro cam solution with Lazd, and RTFQ hooked me up with some awesome hardware to test out. I'll soon be swapping the motors pictured in the photos, the HyphPV Custom Orange Booties, for a larger stature motor to more efficiently swing 5" triblades, and will update the description accordingly when that time comes. The motors, receiver, and FPV system were the only parts not provided for this build, and thanks to BulbufetFPV's parts graveyard and generosity I was able to reuse some that I had lying around. I'm absolutely loving the way this puppy flew on it's first few voyages and can't wait to swap out the motors and get everything tuned up and dialed in. Should be a ripper!

Where did you get the Yi mount?

Both the faceplate and the base wedge can be found on Thingiverse. The base is Matthew Evan's (add1ct3d) shrike gopro mount.

They went on for the photo shoot and came off for the maiden to forever reside in a drawer.

Did you try flying them at all? I wonder how the motors would like them.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
